Using Gilded Leafing in Card Making

Today’s project shows one way of using Gilded leafing in Card Making

The theme of this blog hop from The crafty Collaborations was “Case a Friend”. I had a look around at some of the beautiful projects my fellow Demonstrators were creating and a card by Emma Goddard – the Coastal Crafter caught my eye.

Her project used the Boughs & Blossoms bundle and you can watch Emma creating her card on a recent Live here. I decided I would swap the flowers for leaves and I used the Love of Leaves stamp set and coordinating dies.

Using Gilded Leafing in Card Making

The Basic White card stock mat is cut narrower than the Evening Evergreen card base and embossed with the Bark 3D embossing folder. The leaves were stamped in different shades of green;

Old Olive
Just Jade
Garden Green
Soft Succulent
Evening Evergreen

The coordinating dies add a lovely stitched detail to the leaves. On the ends of the Just Jade leaves, I added some multipurpose adhesive and rubbed some Gilded Leafing onto the sticky surface.

Gold Gilded leafing, gold embossing and gold brushed metallic dots all add a touch of elegance to this card featuring Stampin' Up's Love of Leaves stamp set.

The leaves were arranged down the edge of the embossed white card with a mixture of glue and dimensionals. The sentiment was heat embossed in Gold. A bow of gold thread was attached to the back of the sentiment before attaching it with dimensionals. The finishing touch was some Brushed Metallic Dots.
