Today’s project is showing some ways of using metallics in cardmaking.
I created this card for this blog hop from the Demonstrators in the Crafty Collaborations community. Do make sure to check out all the projects in the hop to get lots of inspiration.
Using Metallics in Cardmaking.
I used a variety of ways of introducing some copper coloured metallics into my projects.
A Copper Card
I started with a Thick Basic White card base and then cut a layer of Copper Foil. I didn’t want to waste any of my foil, so I gutted the centre of the card, before sticking the frame to the card base.
The white card layer was embossed with the Timeworn Type Embossing folder, before running versamark ink and copper embossing over the surface.
A copper frame was cut with the Deckled Rectangle dies and then a Basic White Deckled Rectangle to fit inside it. The fern image from the Botanical Layers stamp set was heat embossed onto the Basic White card with copper. Some foliage pieces were then cut from the centre piece of copper foil using the Splendid Stems dies. The foliage pieces were arranged over the stamped image and a heat embossed sentiment and white twine bow were layered over the top. To finish, some copper Brushed Metallic dots were added.

Beautiful card. The metallic heat embossing into the dry embossed layer is amazing. I’ve never thought of doing that. It really adds to the whole look of your copper card. Great job!
