It today’s blog post I have been using punches to create a colour challenge card.

The idea behind this blog hop is to show that you can create beautiful cards even if you don’t have lots of equipment. These cards are great for crafters who are just starting out, but even avid crafters will love to try these designs.

A Colour Challenge

This month we have a colour challenge inspired by this beautiful Blue Tit. It is always great to be challenged to use different colour combinations as a springboard for your creativity.

Using Punches To Create A Colour Challenge Card

A card featuring Stampin' Up's Let's Sail Sail Bundle and Cloud Punch and inspired by a colour challenge

For my project I combined the Let’s Set Sail stamp and punch bundle with the Cloud Punch to create a nautical card.

I tore some Pacific Point cardstock to create waves. Next, I rubbed a White Craft ink pad across the top to add some foam to my waves.

The boats were punched out of Soft Suede and So Saffron card.

Using a Blending Brush, I added some Pacific Point ink to a Basic White mat. Then I added the waves and boats.

Having punched two clouds from Basic White card, I added a touch of Pacific Point ink around the edges of them before also adding them to the scene.

This scene was stuck to a mat of Soft Suede card and some Crumb cake twine was wrapped around it and knotted. This was finally added to a Pacific Point card base.

The sentiment was stamped in Pacific Point ink onto Basic White card. It was cut up into smaller pieces before being added to the card front.

To embellish the card, a few white Classic matte Dots were stuck to the front.

The card insert features ink blending and stamping to coordinate with the front of the card

Some Pacific Point ink was blended to the opposite corners of the insert. Some birds were then stamped in the top left.

Let’s Hop

I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects

Punches are such a vital part of my crafty stash and are great for anyone who doesn’t yet have a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss. They are also a fabulous resource if you are crafting with children.
