I have really enjoyed having the Bird Ballad Suite as my product of the week this week. The beautiful stamps and complimentary papers are just so pretty and they encourage you to want to create pretty projects with them.

Monday

During Mondays’ Facebook live we re-created a card from the catalogue, using stamps, inks and one of the laser cut cards that are part of this suite. The cards come in a fabulous tin that I will find many uses for, now that I have emptied it. (I have a new one on its way,)

This card has no bird images at all, but it makes very good use of the flower and foliage stamps in the set. There are also some of the trinkets added into this project. These antique brass looking embellishments are such a wonderful flourish.

Thursday

When I was planning and designing my projects for Thursday’s Live, I knew they needed to be a little bit fancy.

I decided to create a Diamond Top Card and a Floating Die Card,

Diamond Top

These Diamond Top cards are quite simple to create.

This is using a piece of A4 card. It is scored down the centre at 10.5 cm. and then scored across the card 10.5cm down from the top. You then need to make a mark on the centre fold line 14cm from the top. Next make a mark on the two sides 18cm from the top. You then need to score from the 18cm marks to the central 14cm mark. Once you have burnished these score lines, you should be able to fold the card into the diamond top format.

Watch me creating mine in the Facebook Live

The birds on this card were stamped onto a stitched label with memento ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. The Designer Series Paper all came from the Bird Ballad collection.

Floating Die Card

For my second card I created a 9.9cm square card using lots of feathers I had fussy cut from the Designer Series Paper. I used some Press ‘n Seal to hold the feathers in place whilst I die cut it and placed lots of mini dimensionals on the back. I sourced my Press n Seal on Amazon. A sentiment from the “Forever Lovely” stamp set was used to finish the card.

Again you can see me creating this card in the video.

I used the circle of feathers I had die cut from the centre to create another card.
