For today’s post I have created a watercolour technique ice cream card.

This card is my contribution to the Design Team’s selection for the latest Festive Friday Challenge, which is celebrating National Ice Cream Day.
We have used this occasion to come up with a list of elements that we call our Inspo List.

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
My project used: pink, yellow, square card, swirls, cones, ice cream
Watercolour Technique Ice Cream Card

Having created a square card base from Thick Basic White, I added a watercolour wash with Balmy Blue ink in the background. The ice cream was a mixture of Strawberry Slush and Lemon Lolly ink for the ice cream and Pecan Pie for the cone. The ice cream came from the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle that is on the last chance list.
Another item on the last chance list is the Friends of the Ocean papers, from which I cut the crabs.

The inspiration for my card came from a picture challenge we had on a recent Stamp Camp. The picture reminded me instantly of the family holidays we had when the children were little at Wells Next The Sea in Norfolk.

This is a picture taken from Wells Next The Sea, as you walk up the steps out of the Pine Woods over to the beach.
When the children were little, one of the highlights of the holiday was the pink and white stripey ice cream that was a speciality of the town. The Norfolk Coast around this area is famous for its crab, both to eat and to catch from the harbour wall with buckets and bacon. It is known locally as gillying.
You can see a full list of the products I have used at the end of the post, including links to my online shop.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects’
