For this blog hop I have been watercolouring die cuts from the Forever Grapevine bundle as we celebrate the launch of our last tutorial bundle for 2021. This collection of tutorials from the Creativity Abounds team all feature Birthday cards.

My Watercolouring Die Cuts Project
I used the Forever Grapevine bundle for both my Tutorial project and this blogpost. As well as the selection of stamps, the coordinating dies feature beautifully detailed vine leaves. There is both a large vine and a die which cuts individual leaves. This is one of those bundles that doesn’t jump out at you right away, but is great to have in your collection. It is so useful for masculine cards and those leaves will be great additional elements to use with other sets.
Instructions
I used Fluid 100 watercolor Paper for my canvas and for the die cuts. This enabled me to have fun with my Water Painters and ink.
The large stamped vine in the background, along with the sentiment, was stamped in Merry Merlot ink. I then used Old Olive ink to add colour to the leaves and Merry Merlot for the grapes. While I had my Water Painter in my hand, I couldn’t resist adding some Merry Merlot splatters.
Both the large die cut vine and the individual leaves were painted in Old Olive and some Merry Merlot edges were added to some leaves.
A rough border of Old Olive was then painted on the canvas.
Dimensionals were used to add some height to the die cut vine, before sticking on the individual leaves.
The smaller vine stamp was used to stamp onto the Merry Merlot mat of card in Merry Merlot ink. Some Linen Thread was then tied around this mat and finished with a bow. This mat was then added to an Old Olive card base. The watercoloured Canvas was added with dimensionals and on an angle. Lastly, the finishing touch was some of the green brushed metallic dots and the card also needs an insert.
