Welcome to my Blog and to my retirement card project.
It is time for a new Festive Friday Challenge, where we pick an upcoming celebration and create a list of inspiration for you. This challenge, we are highlighting National Cappuccino Day. You pick at least 3 items from the inspo list and use them to create a project.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all! The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!
- Create a new project inspired by our challenge. You can create any project as long as it includes at least three items from the festivity Inspiration List.
- You may enter up to a maximum of 3 times as long as the creations are new.
- Entries will be disqualified if they are entered into more than three challenges (including ours). Why? We want people to find inspiration from our challenge, not the other way around. Creating something and then finding challenges where it fits does not match up with the spirit of our challenge.
- If you have a blog, you should include the challenge badge or the challenge board in your post and link back to our challenge.
- If you are posting in a gallery (like SplitCoast, Pinterest, or any other social media platform), make sure you mention our challenge with a link back to the challenge and use the hashtag #festivefridaychallenge and the hashtag found on the challenge (#FF0071)
My Retirement Card
My husband needed a retirement card for a member of his team at work, so I created this large, foliage adorned card, that is large enough for lots of greetings. The card was created by scoring and folding a full sheet of A4 Early Espresso cardstock.
From the Inspo List, I chose:
- Ribbon
- Die Cuts
- Cream/Ivory
- Brown
- Gold
The brown/very vanilla/gold colour palette was teamed with the stamps and dies from the Forever Fern bundle to create this autumnal spray. The Cinnamon Cider cardstock strip in the background was stamped with the bark effect stamp from the Textured Essentials stamp. There is a swirl of gold thread behind the spray and a Very Vanilla and gold bow on the top. The sentiments are embossed in gold and the finishing touches are provided by the gilded gems.
There is no cappuccino in this card, but there is some Early Espresso dark brown cardstock and ink. This was teamed with the Cinnamon Cider – a very different type of drink.
I love the earthy colours of this card and I hope it is enjoyed by the recipient and that they do enjoy love and laughter forever after.
