Autumn colours feature in today’s Blog Post, where you will find a project featuring lots of leaves.
Today sees the last of the blog Hops for the 2019-2020 cohort of demonstrators who have taken part in Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Programme this year. It has been a year packed full of teaching, inspiration and support, which has been highly valued by everyone taking part.
So what should I create for this final blog hop?
My Autumn Colours Project.
During a Facebook Live, I was creating an Autumn Card using the Life is Beautiful Stamp set and the baby Wipe Technique. Having created my baby wipe ink pad, using Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Garden Green ink, I wanted to get as much use from it as possible.
I took my baby wipe and smooshed it down a piece of Whisper White cardstock. It created this wonderful striped background. I then set to work die cutting a variety of leaves from the nature’s Roots dies.
The Background
Using the Rooted in Nature stamp set, I stamped the details of the leaves in with soft suede ink. I then used them to create a border down the front of a card.
The card base is Crumb Cake. The front of the card has a panel of Soft Suede card that has been embossed with the Forever Greenery Embossing Folder. A length of braided linen thread was wrapped around this panel and a knot has been added, before attaching to the card front with dimensionals. The border of leaves has been built up on the edge of this panel. Some leaves have been raised up on dimensionals. The “Be Strong…” sentiment from the rooted in nature stamp set was stamped in Early Espresso and then cut into individual phrases. These were attached, spaced evenly down the length of the border. I added in a couple of wooden leaves from the In Good Taste Elements for a different texture.
I took my scissors and cut around the outline of the border to create a shaped front flap on the card.
For the back of the card, I trimmed 0.5cm from the right hand edge. I then cut the narrow stitched, scalloped border form the Ornate Borders dies with Soft Suede card. This was then stuck along the cut edge.
Not bad for a left over baby wipe.

If you would like to see the original card that I created with my baby wipe you can see it on this video, along with a Christmas card I also created with the “Life is Beautiful” stamp set.
