This weekend I have been taking part in a Stamp Camp and creating projects using Card Making Challenges.
These Stamp Camps are a regular part of my schedule and this is the fifth one I have been part of. Along with 12 other Demonstrators from around the World, we provide lots of inspiration using our chosen Suite. Attendees buy the suite and get a tutorial with video links and a pack of make & take packets that enables them to create the 13 projects. In addition, we all do a Live video which sits in an exclusive Facebook Group, giving an additional 13 projects to create with the Suite.
Card Making Challenges
As part of the fun of the day, we also had three different Card Making Challenges to spark our creativity. The presenters all shared their creations at a Crafternoon Tea slot, where we get together on Zoom and chat and have fun. I thought I would share both the challenges and my projects with you.
Dice Challenge
For the first challenge, one of the Demonstrators has a set of dice, similar to one I have used on a previous blog post. The elements that came up were:
3″x3″ card; Thank You: Die Cut; Sponging and Subtles
I decided to create a small tri-fold card, so I started with a piece of cardstock measuring 3″ x 9″, scored at 3″ and 6″ on the long side. Some gorgeous Designer Series Paper was added to the front panel. Then a stitched circle aperture was cut.
I stamped a flower and two sets of leaves. Using a Blending Brush, I sponged the flower with Blushing Bride and a spot of Calypso Coral in the middle. The leaves were sponged with Pear Pizzazz. These are all colours from the Subtles range.
These flowers and leaves were stuck to the central panel, which had also had some Designer Series Paper added. They were positioned so they showed through the aperture. Some brass butterflies were added, fluttering around the flower.
The inside panel was a piece of Basic White card that had been sponged with Blushing Bride ink.
Sketch Challenge
The next challenge was this sketch challenge. I did some maths and worked out that 14.4cm divided by 6 was 2.4cm.
Taking a 14.4cm x 10cm piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock and using the die from the Happiness Abounds budle, I cut the pattern into the cardstock. I then arranged 3 strips of 10cm x 2.4cm Designer Series Paper along the front of this die cut piece. This mat was then stuck to a Pool Party card base.
Instead of circles, I used stitched squares on the front of the card. The larger was cut in Pool Party and the smaller from Designer Series paper. Some die cut flowers and leaves were arranged on the top, raisong the flowers with dimensionals. The sentiment piece was tucked into the flowers.
The card was finished with some of the Glossy Dots and a bow made from fibres from the White Frayed Ribbon.
Colour Challenge
The colour challenge was my contribution. As a contrast to the bright colours of the Hues of Happiness Suite, I challenged everyone to make a card using Black, Gray and White.
For my card, I stamped onto Basic Gray card and coloured the flowers with a White Watercolour pencil. I thought it would make a good sympathy card, so I choose to use the sentiments from the Sending Smiles bundle. I also added some Black Twine and Black Matte dots. The flowers were stamped using the masking technique to create this arrangement.
Hues of Happiness Tutorial
The Stamp Camp may be over, but you can buy the Tutorial Bundle with the 13 Make & Takes from the Creativity Abounds Team. This is one of many Tutorial Bundles you can find in my shop and the Creativity Abounds team create a new one each month.
Next Stamp Camp
If this has all piqued your interest about our Stamp Camps, you may be interested in booking onto our next one. In October we are going to be using the Festive Boughs of Holly Suite. Simply buy the suite from me (or one of the other participating Demonstrators) and you will be added into the event. See more details here.
