This Christmas Accordion Fold Card is the last Festive Friday Design Team Project for 2022

For each challenge we pick a special day or festival to focus on, that inspires us to create a list of elements that form the basis for the challenge,

The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project in our card making and paper crafting challenge.  Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about the theme at all!  The selected festivity is just a unique way to come up with a fun and interesting inspiration list!

My project used: Christmas, red, gold, fancy fold.

Christmas Accordion Fold Card

You could create this style of card with any Designer Series Paper, but I chose the Boughs of Holly.

Creating The Card

The main concertina element of the card is created by taking a 30cm x 14.4cm piece of DSP which is scored at 5cm, 10cm, 15cm and 20cm. The equivalent for a US/ Canada card size would be 12″ x 5 1/4″ scored at 2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″

The concertina paper was added to a quarter piece of cardstock ( 14.9cm x 10.5cm / 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″)

The panels on the card were die cut using Stitched Rectangle dies and the poinsettias were fussy cut from the Designer Series Paper. Some gold holly leaves were added to the front panel and gold pearls were added to the centre of the poinsettias.

The sentiments came from the Leaves of Holly Stamp set

Let’s Hop

I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects

How Can I Help?

I know in some markets the Boughs of Holly Designer Series paper has already sold out, but this quick and easy fancy fold can be tries with any 12″ x 12″ paper. Do give it a go. And of course they are not just for Christmas. In this earlier blog post, I created a sympathy card.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.

Meanwhile stay safe and stay well
