For today’s Blog Hop project I have been creating backgrounds with die cuts.
The Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop is one of the hops contributed to by the Stampin’ Up Demonstrators in the Crafty Collaborations group. and the theme of this month’s hop is “Throwback Thursday”
I decided to go back and look at my blog posts from a year ago and I came across this post from January last year and decided to use it as my inspiration. I love the use of die cuts stuck to the card base to create a textured background.
My Project Creating Backgrounds With Die Cuts
For my card for today, I decided to use the Artfully Layered Bundle and ribbon from the Artfully Composed Suite. First, the two different detailed leaves in the set were cut a few times from Granny Apple Green cardstock and then stuck them to a Granny Apple Green mat. Then this mat was mounted onto a Basic White card base.
Using Basic White cardstock, I cut a frame using the Ornate Frames dies. Onto this frame some Balmy Blue ink was added with a Blending Brush and then some small leaves were stamped in Granny Apple Green. Because I wanted a solid black image, I used my stamparatus to stamp the sentiment with memento Black. After adding a swirl of White Frayed ribbon to the back of the frame, it was then attached to the card front with dimensionals.
The large leaf on the front was heat embossed with gold embossing powder, before having Granny Apple Green ink sponged over the top. It was then die cut with the coordinating die and added to the card front with dimensionals. Finally, the card was embellished with white Classic Matte Dots.
Let’s Hop
I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
How Can I help?
I enjoyed this trip down Memory Lane and creating something new with new product using a throwback project.
I am going to be part of a group of Demonstrators offering a Stamp Camp using this Suite of Products and we would love you to join us. It offers so much fabulous inspiration. You simply buy the suite from a participating demonstrator and then you will have access to at least 24 tutorials.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if I can help with your purchases, or if you have a crafty question.
Meanwhile stay safe and stay well

Both cards are just lovely!
I’ve never thought of adhering die cuts as a textured background look. Really like how it turned out. Definitely one to try.
