We are heading for outer space with this blog post. The new Festive Friday Challenge, #FF0068, celebrates World Space Week

I looked down this great Inspo list and as usual, I couldn’t stick to just three.

My Outer Space Project

For my project, I picked stars; metallic; planets; purple and blue

The background was created by sponging Gorgeous Grape, Pacific Point and Night of Navy ink, blended with glycerine. Onto this sponged background, I splattered Champagne Shimmer paint.

Now for stars and planets. The silver foil stars were die cut with the stitched stars. The planets were die cut with the layering circles and then embossed. The larger one was embossed with the Hammered 3D embossing folder and the smaller planets were embossed with the Tasteful Texture 3D embossing folder. For the ring around the planet, I cut a silver foil circular frame using 2 circle dies, cut it in half and folded the ends around the circle to stick to the back. This larger planet was raised up with dimensionals.

Bringing it Together

The greeting from the Well Said stamp set was heat embossed in silver onto Night of navy card stock.

To make up the card, the space scene panel was stuck to a mat of Gorgeous Grape, which was then attached to a Night of Navy card base. The finishing touch was some of the iridescent pearls. These pick up the purple and blues in the background beautifully.
